We need to bring our troops home from Iraq’s civil war, fix our broken economy, and bring people of all backgrounds together in the great common cause of making our country better.

Rob Andrews takes action and delivers real change:

Change in Iraq.
President Bush's Iraq policy has been a colossal failure that has cost thousands of precious American lives and is wasting $10 billion dollars a month. Rob voted 16 times to bring our troops home from Iraq’s civil war. Over 18 months ago, Rob introduced a real plan to end our nation's involvement in that country. Under his plan, the President's failed Iraq policy would have been corrected and our troops would be already home. The remarkable men and women who so honorably serve our country deserve no less.

Change in Health Care.
After four decades of talk from the Washington status quo, Rob Andrews understands that our country needs to actually fix health care. Here is what he would do:

• Reduce prescription drug prices for seniors by repealing the Bush law that prohibits Medicare from negotiating the best and fairest price it can from the drug companies
• Help all consumers and businesses stop skyrocketing premiums by passing a law to force health insurance companies to compete for your business
• Help get everyone insured by
  • permitting people 55 and over to enroll in Medicare as long as their employer pays what would be the government's share
  • cover every uninsured child by expanding the SCHIP program
  • help small businesses cover their employees by providing fair subsidies.
  • passing a law requiring huge employers who can afford to insure their employees but who do not to cover their employees or pay into a plan that would cover them-- end the free ride for the Wal-Marts of the world.
• Pass a patient's bill of rights so that insurance companies actually have to cover the benefits they promise.

Unlike the tired status quo politics, Rob Andrews will honestly say how to pay for health care--by repealing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and using some of the proceeds for health care.

Change in Access to Education.
Higher education is more important than ever. The first member of his family to go to college, Rob understands the importance of student financial aid. Rob supports expanding Pell Grants and making student loans more affordable.

Change the Failed Bush Economic Policy and Fight for Jobs.
Rob will oppose unfair trade agreements, like the agreements with Peru and China, that eliminate our jobs, and will create new jobs in New Jersey through investments in clean energy, rebuilding our roads, bridges, and schools, and helping small businesses grow.
